Shooting is a hobby as much as golf is a hobby. Telling me I can only own X amount of guns is like telling a golfer he can only go golfing with X amount of clubs. Guns and clubs are for different situations and distances. Rifles for longer range & bigger game, much like a driver. Shotguns for birds and closer range game, like a iron/wedge. Handguns for short range, like a putter.
Do golfers buy balls 3 at a time, no, you buy a case. Do you buy 1 roll of toiler paper at a time or a 10 pack at Costco. Same with ammo, a good day at the range involves several 100 rounds, rounds like anything else are cheaper by the case, not to mention I loose "ball" on every shot.
Not only that, you have people that like to collect historic guns, like an 1890's Winchester, or WWII M1. Many will rarely be fired and mostly displayed because of their value, much like a classic car. They are not being used by criminals.
For the people who grew up playing call of duty or medal of honor games, tactical weapons are their thing, .223 AR's infinitely customizable, extremely accurate. Much like your avg wannabe high school kid with a riced out civic. Cars btw, kill more people in this country than guns.
Limiting legal & properly permitted gun ownership is not going to stop criminal gun activity. Though maybe the gov't not selling assault rifles to cartels might help.

Chick-fil-A
The very same rights that allow a gay pride parade are the same rights that allow the owners of Chick-fil-A to say they support traditional christian family values. Politicians saying that won't allow Chick-fil-A in your city is not only shortsighted, it's illegal. You cannot reject a business owner on the basis of his race, religion or sex. By the same token you cannot reject an Indian place because you don't like Hinduism's values. Chick-fil-A is not discriminating against anyone (well unless you like to eat their food on Sundays). They both hire and serve homosexuals. If they did not, then yes you could say they were discriminatory and claim they violate some law. Banning an establishment because of it's religious beliefs is illegal.
Furthermore, Christians have they same exact rights as other religious groups and homosexuals. Americans have the freedom from discrimination, not from being offended. There is a massive difference. If my manger scene in my front yard during Christmas offends you, then look some place else. Telling me to take it down violates both my freedom of speech and religion. If homosexuals think they are being oppressed here, move to a Muslim country, where they won't let you live, much less marry.
If they want a piece of paper from the IRS saying they are married, fine. Half of what they say isn't true anyway. Doesn't it make it Godly, nor does it make my marriage worth any less. Heck in some Asian countries you can marry an animal. On the list of things that are horribly wrong with society, it's not real high on my list, Obama gave us a lot more things to be worried about. HOWEVER, as a Christian, based on old testament scriptures, I'd have to say that it is a sin. There are many things that are sins that are widely accepted today, sex out of wedlock is basically a given and you are weird if you don't. At the same time, as everyone is and should be taught, hate the sin, love the sinner. I for instance thoroughly enjoy George Takei's Facebook, does it sadden me that one of my favorite actors is gay, yes. Do i wish him harm, no. If equality is what is requested, then why continue to attack Christians. Why does flying the gay pride flag require me to take down my manger scene during Christmas? Why does not discriminating against homosexuals = discriminating against Christians? Maybe they are so angry because deep down they know it's wrong and like many people when caught doing wrong, act out in anger.
Or to put in in much simpler terms, it's like if I walk up to a guy and say "hi I'm a christian" and he says "hi I'm gay" and I go to shake his hand and he takes a swing at me. It's not a good way to make peace.

Facts
I love facts, facts are neither liberal or conservative, there is no interpretation, facts are truth. With all the access we have to facts and information these days, it's rather sad how many people allow others to do their thinking and make their decisions for them. It's everywhere, people says "the bible says this" when in fact it doesn't say it at all, some pastor may have said it, but it's just not there. Politicians will say the law does this for you, when in fact you read it thoroughly and it doesn't do that at all, but does a ton of things that will impact you negatively. Anyone who wants to debate me on NCLB, the stimulus, Obamacare, or for some strange reason the 9/11 responders payment bill, please be aware that I've in fact read all those documents. In spite of what Nancy Pelosi says, please read it before you argue with me, they are in PDF format, and adobe acrobat is free. My opinions are based on fact, not emotion. When the president said "if you like your healthcare plan, you can keep it" he was in fact lying. There is no mechanism in the Obamacare law that states if you like your healthcare, your employer has to continue to offer it to you. It's not there. It will tell you what they tax will be on the plan under the new law if it exceeds certain costs, it tells them what their "tax" will be if they don't offer you healthcare. But nowhere in the bill does it state if I happen to like my Aetna CPOS 4 program, i can keep it. FACT
Another fun little fact is that the US attorney generals office knowingly and willfully sold automatic weapons to known Mexican drug cartels via straw purchases, one of those weapons was used to kill a US border agent. Eric Holder should be in jail, not in office.

Maybe we have a spending problem and not a taxing problem.
For anyone in the "lets tax the rich" camp: If you took 100% of the income from people earning over $1million, you'd get $616 billion. That's only 1/3rd of the amount the deficit will increase just this year. And as well all know the gov't has a whole in it's pocket, so they'll spend any tax increase and not put it towards the debt.
Maybe we have a spending problem and not a taxing problem.

Faitboat
One part of my tour of Ireland I could have done without is the titanic museum in Belfast. Or I like to call it the ALL ABOARD THE FAILBOAT. The boat sank in a disaster, much like the Hindenburg. That is the only notable thing it did, IT SANK. If James Cameron had done a movie about a fictitious romance on the Hindenburg before it crashed then I'm sure there would be a museum about that instead. The stuff they have for sale is also laughable. Do you really want a T shirt with the titanic on it? Just buy a shirt that says "EPIC FAIL" on it instead. Some idiot named his boat TITANIC II, and guess what, first trip out of the harbor, it sank.
There are so many other ships that actually did some historic things which are not getting any attention as floating museums. Philly not only has one of the few ships remaining from the Spanish-American war, it also has the current transatlantic record holder rusting at the docks, the SS United States as well. The battleship NJ is the longest battleship ever built and the admiral's flagship in the pacific during WWII, one of the most decorated ships in history, but it's going bankrupt as a museum.

Eric Holder
In many states if a criminal uses a gun that is registered to you (for which you have not reported stolen) commits a crime, you are held liable for it. So I'm not quiet sure why Eric Holder is not in jail for the murder of a border agent. Since he in fact sold the automatic weapon to Mexican drug cartels, which in turn was used to shoot the agent.
Which kinda reminds me of the plot to John Wayne's "The Commancheros" although he at least has the good sense to not include firing pins until after part of the deal is done, to find the secret stronghold of the bandits. As much as I like the duke, you really shouldn't be using his movies as any sort of guide to a federal sting operation. Dear Mr Holder, this also applies to the movie "the sting"
