The very same rights that allow a gay pride parade are the same rights that allow the owners of Chick-fil-A to say they support traditional christian family values. Politicians saying that won't allow Chick-fil-A in your city is not only shortsighted, it's illegal. You cannot reject a business owner on the basis of his race, religion or sex. By the same token you cannot reject an Indian place because you don't like Hinduism's values. Chick-fil-A is not discriminating against anyone (well unless you like to eat their food on Sundays). They both hire and serve homosexuals. If they did not, then yes you could say they were discriminatory and claim they violate some law. Banning an establishment because of it's religious beliefs is illegal.
Furthermore, Christians have they same exact rights as other religious groups and homosexuals. Americans have the freedom from discrimination, not from being offended. There is a massive difference. If my manger scene in my front yard during Christmas offends you, then look some place else. Telling me to take it down violates both my freedom of speech and religion. If homosexuals think they are being oppressed here, move to a Muslim country, where they won't let you live, much less marry.
If they want a piece of paper from the IRS saying they are married, fine. Half of what they say isn't true anyway. Doesn't it make it Godly, nor does it make my marriage worth any less. Heck in some Asian countries you can marry an animal. On the list of things that are horribly wrong with society, it's not real high on my list, Obama gave us a lot more things to be worried about. HOWEVER, as a Christian, based on old testament scriptures, I'd have to say that it is a sin. There are many things that are sins that are widely accepted today, sex out of wedlock is basically a given and you are weird if you don't. At the same time, as everyone is and should be taught, hate the sin, love the sinner. I for instance thoroughly enjoy George Takei's Facebook, does it sadden me that one of my favorite actors is gay, yes. Do i wish him harm, no. If equality is what is requested, then why continue to attack Christians. Why does flying the gay pride flag require me to take down my manger scene during Christmas? Why does not discriminating against homosexuals = discriminating against Christians? Maybe they are so angry because deep down they know it's wrong and like many people when caught doing wrong, act out in anger.
Or to put in in much simpler terms, it's like if I walk up to a guy and say "hi I'm a christian" and he says "hi I'm gay" and I go to shake his hand and he takes a swing at me. It's not a good way to make peace.
