One part of my tour of Ireland I could have done without is the titanic museum in Belfast. Or I like to call it the ALL ABOARD THE FAILBOAT. The boat sank in a disaster, much like the Hindenburg. That is the only notable thing it did, IT SANK. If James Cameron had done a movie about a fictitious romance on the Hindenburg before it crashed then I'm sure there would be a museum about that instead. The stuff they have for sale is also laughable. Do you really want a T shirt with the titanic on it? Just buy a shirt that says "EPIC FAIL" on it instead. Some idiot named his boat TITANIC II, and guess what, first trip out of the harbor, it sank.
There are so many other ships that actually did some historic things which are not getting any attention as floating museums. Philly not only has one of the few ships remaining from the Spanish-American war, it also has the current transatlantic record holder rusting at the docks, the SS United States as well. The battleship NJ is the longest battleship ever built and the admiral's flagship in the pacific during WWII, one of the most decorated ships in history, but it's going bankrupt as a museum.
